Posted in Atlanta Hail Damage Information with tags , , , , on July 29, 2010 by HAPS

On Monday July 26, 2010 a major hailstorm hit in Alpharetta and John’s Creek Georgia causing major hail damage to roofs across the area.   Reports of 1.75″ to 2″ hail have been made by homeowners throughout the area.   Insurance companies will be extremely busy in the coming months as the claims roll in.

Hail Spot on Shingle

Our experience is that insurance companies are more prone to approve claims within close proximity to the storm date because they have so many storm damage claims to process that they don’t spend as much time micro managing adjuster summaries from their inspections.

What does this mean to the homeowner?  Basically, if you file a claim quickly, you will increase your odds of having your hail damage claim approved tremendously.

If you live in Alpharetta or John’s Creek Georgia you should contact Home Asset Protection Services as soon as possible to arrange for a FREE pre inspection of your home to determine if you need to file a claim.

We advise you to have your home pre inspected before you file a claim to ensure you have hail damage on your roof.  Our trained staff will assist you throughout the entire process.  We will inspect your roof, help you file a claim if needed, provide the necessary information to the insurance company, keep records and/or pictures from the inspections to back our findings, and ensure the insurance companies compensate you fairly for your roof replacement.

Don’t delay.  If you’ve considered having your roof checked for hail damage, NOW is the time.  Call 404-933-6610 today to arrange for a FREE inspection of your home.

We’ve had some great success representing homeowners in repairing and/or replacing their roofs during the past wave of storm damage claims.  We’ve done this by being thorough in our inspections, courteous and professional in our customer servcies, and most importantly, we go over and above to ensure your roof is secure and built to last.

We use the best quality products and we often upgrade to give you a better roof system.   You want your roofer to utilize better water protection with Ice and Water Shield, you need the the proper ventilation such as ridge vents, power vents, etc. based on the square footage of space.   You need at least 4 nails in every shingle and you need proper nailing on the edges.  The edges need to be cut properly.  Flashing and ice and water shield should be properly installed to protect areas susceptible for leaks.  Pipe boots need to be changed out and caulked properly.  All of these areas are VERY IMPORTANT when you are trying to protect your home for many years.

If you’re thinking of using our company you can be assured we do quality work.  We’ve got a long list of satisfied customers who will vouch for our company and the services we provide.

Why You Choose HAPS for your Hail Storm Damage Claim

Posted in Atlanta Hail Damage Information, Claims Guide with tags , , , , , , , , , on April 8, 2010 by HAPS

Our company has experienced tremendous success this year in our hail claims services business, and I want to share some of the reasons people choose Home Asset Protection Services to represent them in their roofing claim.

Our claims managers are courteous & professional, and we are experts in the hail damage claims services.  Why?  Because we believe in helping people and we have a great system in place for improving approval rates for roofs which have experienced damage.  Also, we’re honest.  If we don’t believe your roof will get approved…it won’t.   If it’s a low percentage, we will tell you.  And if your chances are good…we will SHOW YOU PICTURES of your shingles so you can see for yourself.

We have met with adjusters from every insurance company and we understand what it takes to get approved.  We have great relationships with many of them as we see them on a regular basis…and we have a mutual respect for each other’s expertise.    Our experience has shown that having someone on the roof during your claim inspection improves your chances for approval by 70%.  Time and time again we’ve seen homeowner’s try it on their own and get denied.  You need someone with hundreds of adjuster appointments under their belt to: 1. Ensure your damage is pointed out to the adjuster and 2. Make sure you are properly compensated for the work which needs to be done.

As for building the roof…..we understand your concerns and we go over and beyond to make sure your job is done properly with the best materials available. We offer a no leak warranty on our workmanship so you better believe our focus is on replacing a roof which will last, look good, and not leak.

Our references are our most important asset.  We encourage our prospective homeowners to speak with our references because they “sell” our company better than we do.  Many were hesitant at first but they are always amazed when they receive the checks for thousands of dollars for their roof replacement.  It doesn’t stop there.  After they receive the 1st check they are always satisfied with the quality of our work.  When they see how we go over and above by using ice and water shield in the valleys, using extra nails, and adding proper ventilation as needed, they know they realize they made the right choice.

If you want to check us out….Call 404-933-6610 and talk to George.  He owns the company and he realizes you are making a 25-30 year decision.  He will be happy to answer any questions you may have about your claim.  You can also fill out a request form by CLICKING HERE; and someone will contact you within 24 hrs.

Also, so you’ll know, we do virtually ALL home improvements.  Our roofing customers use us and refer us to others for painting, drywall repair, wood rot repair, gutters and gutter guards, siding, decks, windows, tile, structural repair, etc., etc.

We don’t want a one time customer who will call us every 30 years they need a roof.  We want you be so satisfied with our quality and service that you call us for any home repair in the future.  It’s how we stay in business.

If you are considering having your roof checked out to see if you’ve had hail or wind damage, call us at 404-933-6610 for a FREE inspection.  If we find damage we’ll represent you through the entire process from pre inspection to adjuster apppointments to analyzing adjuster summaries to ordering materials to finishing the job and helping you secure ALL due monies from your insurance claim.

Have a great day!!!

Free Hail Damage Pre Inspection

Posted in Atlanta Hail Damage Information, Claims Guide with tags , , , , , , on January 12, 2010 by HAPS

How do you know if you have hail damage on your roof?  Most homeowners don’t climb on their roofs to see if damage has occured, nor do we recommend you do so.

You need a thorough pre inspection by a qualified roofer who has experience in this area.

Our team of professionals do thorough pre inspections before we advise you to file a hail damage claim with your insurance company.  During our inspection we climb on your roof, we take pictures of your vents and shingles, and we count the hail “dings” in a 10′ x 10′ test square just like the adjusters will do if a claim is filed.

When we are done with the inspection, we show you the pictures so you can have visual evidence of your roof before you decide to file a hail damage claim with your insurance company.

Damaged Turtle Vent

Hail Damaged Shingle

After we show you the pictures we assist you in the remainder of the claims process.  We help you file the claim, we explain the entire claims process to you, we meet with the insurance adjuster during their inspection to represent YOU,  we make sure the measurements and compensation are correct, we explain the adjuster summary to you, we assist you in getting your full claim amount, we install your roof in a timely manner, and we assist you in recovering any final payments due from the insurance company, and we warranty our workmanship for 5 years.

Handling this yourself can be overwhelming if you don’t have experience in this area.  Home Asset Protection Services will make the process easy for you.

So if you’re interested in finding out if your home may qualify for a roof replacement due to Hail Damage, call 404-93-6610 to arrange for a FREE pre inspection of your home.

We look forward to representing you.

HAIL CLAIMS and Collateral Damage?

Posted in Atlanta Hail Damage Information, Claims Guide with tags , , , , , , , on December 8, 2009 by HAPS

This vent was damaged by hail.

When you file a hail damage claim an adjuster will make an appointment to inspect your home to determine how much damage you’ve incurred on your home or business.

During the hail claim inspection the first thing the adjuster will look for is collateral damage.  Collateral damage is damage to parts of the roof/home other than the shingles.    Examples of collateral damaged areas could be exhaust vents (see picture), power vents, gutters, air conditioning units, window screens, siding, etc.

Quite often your roof vents will be the first sign of hail damage because many of these vents are made of soft metal such as aluminum.   These items will damage much easier than the actual shingles which protect your roof.

Based on our experience… if you don’t have collateral damage on any of your vents, you can generally expect that your claim will be denied.

Collateral damage is just one sign of hail damage.  If you suspect your home could have suffered from the Atlanta area Hail storms of 2009, 2010, or 2011 contact one of our representatives as soon as possible to arrange for a free inspection of your roof.  CLICK HERE to fill out a request form and we’ll contact you within 24 hrs.   Our representatives don’t “eyeball” your roof, we actually climb up on your roof and carefully pre inspect your roof to determine if we believe you have enough hail damage to warrant filing a claim with your insurance company.

If we don’t find damage, we will tell you just that.  Many companies try to get you to file a claim whether you have damage or not in hopes that a percentage of their contracts will be approved by the adjuster.  They see this as a numbers game.  At Home Asset Protection Services, LLC we don’t see one of your most important assets as a game.  If you file a claim with our company as your representative we will meet with the adjuster to show the results of our inspection.  We don’t want to waste your time, their time, or our time if you don’t have hail damage. We also don’t want to have to come to your house a 2nd or 3rd time to meet with the adjuster if we don’t believe you have damage.   If we do see damage, however, we will fight for you to protect your rights as a homeowner….period.

Call 404-933-6610 if you would like to speak with one of our professional representatives to discuss your options as a homeowner in the Atlanta area who may have been impacted by the hailstorms in February, March, or April of 2009, 2010, and/or 2011.

Do I have Hail Damage on My Roof?

Posted in Atlanta Hail Damage Information with tags , , , on December 1, 2009 by HAPS

This is a great question if you live in the Metro Atlanta area.  Thousands of homes in the Metro Atlanta area did receive hail damage to their roofs during the storms of 2009.

So how do you know if you have damage.  It’s really an easy question to answer.  You are able to get your home inspected for FREE from our company, Home Asset Protection Services, LLC (HAPS) by calling 404-933-6610  to schedule for a free inspection (if you live in an area impacted by the storms).

We deal with the insurance companies and adjusters on a daily basis.  We know what the adjusters are looking for so we give honest advice as to your potential for getting a hail damage claim approved.

We pre inspect the homes so you don’t have to file a claim UNLESS you have a a chance of getting your claim approved.  Our company does not believe in having homeowners put in claims if the chances for approval are low.  Why?  Because we not only preinspect your home, we also meet with the adjuster to represent YOU if we believe you have enough damage to warrant approval.

We won’t advise you to put in a claim if you don’t have a chance  because we don’t want to waste our time meeting adjusters for homes which don’t have damage.  More importantly, we don’t want you to put a claim on record if we don’t believe it’s necessary.

Many “storm chasers” believe they should get as many claims filed as possible in hopes of getting a small percentage approved.   It’s a numbers game to them…often at your expense.  We don’t approve of these methods at Home Asset Protection Services.  Our approval rate is very high because we do thorough inspections, we know what each insurance company needs for approval, and we have built a reputation with the insurance companies as a company who knows what we’re doing.

Can you do it yourself?  The easy answer is yes, but the correct answer is no.  Do you know the difference between hail damage and mechanical damage?  Do you know the difference between old hail and new hail damage?  Do you know how much damage is needed for approval?  Most homeowners can’t answer yes to these questions.

Our advice is to be smart about your decision to file a hail damage claim.  Why not get a FREE INPECTION if you have nothing to lose?  At the very least you’ll know if your roof survived the storms.  And if you potentially have damage, we’ll assist you from start to finish.

Call Home Asset Protection Services, LLC at 404-933-6610 to discuss your home and determine if you are a candidate for a roof replacement paid for by your insurance company.

If you give us your location we can do a search to determine if your area was impacted by the Atlanta area hail storms of 2009.  If our search shows hail damage occurred in your area, we will preinspect your home and give you an honest opinion of the potential for approval if you do decide to file a claim.

Would you like $3500-15,000 to replace your roof?  If you rightfully deserve a roof replacement, you need to get your home inspected soon.

Hail Damage Atlanta Claims Guide

Posted in Atlanta Hail Damage Information, Claims Guide with tags , , , , , , on November 18, 2009 by HAPS

This is a quick guide to making sure you follow the proper steps to getting your hail damage claim taken care of without having to worry about having problems with your insurance company.

Understand, there are two kinds of companies involved in this business.  First, you have companies who want you to file a claim no matter what in hopes you will get approved.  Second, there are companies who want to make sure you have hail damage before you put in a claim.

The first kind of company is playing the numbers game.  They believe getting more claim contracts filed will result in more approvals irregardless of approval percentage.  They don’t always pre inspect your home carefully and they aren’t concerned about you getting denied with a claim on your record.

The second kind of company is definitely your best choice.  They do pre inspect your home carefully because they don’ t want to waste time meeting with your adjuster if they know damage is not apparent.  Also, they don’t want you to file a claim if you don’t qualify, and they don’t want to get a reputation with the insurance company of being a company who isn’t concerned with the expense the insurance company must incur to pay adjusters to inspect your home.

While not verified, it is assumed that the more professional companies have a better reputation with the insurance companies resulting in better service during the claims process.

When deciding what YOU need to do to find out if your home is a potential candidate for a hail damage claim approval, we suggest you use a company who preinspects your home and offers an honest opinion of their findings.  These companies will give you a more detailed explanation of their inspection along with reasons why you should or should not file a claim.

At Home Asset Protection Services, we offer detailed and honest pre inspections before we suggest you file a claim.  If we don’t find damage, we don’t want you to file a claim.  Why?  Because we don’t want to have to come back out to your home to meet with an adjuster if we know your roof will not be approved.  Our inspections are free and our adjuster meetings are free.  We even take pictures of your roof and show them to you so you can see the damage.   It would’nt make sense for our company to spend an additional 1-3 hours meeting with an adjuster if we know your roof won’t be approved.

Next, you want the hail damage claims representative to explain the entire process so you understand what filing a claim entails.  The claims representatives should explain the entire process from start to finish so you’ll understand the steps involved in filing your claim.  At Home Asset Protection Services, LLC, we do just that.  Our representative will show you the steps to filing and processing your claim and we will offer you assistance through the entire process.  We will help you in file the intial claim, we will explain the next step after the claim is filed, and we will show you examples of approved claims to help you understand how the payment process works.  We will also give you an estimate on the time it will take for the entire claim to be filed, inspected, approved, paid, and completed.  Finally, upon approval, we will show you samples of shingles so you can determine the best option and color for your new roof.

We don’t suggest you do this on your own.  It can be a complicated headache without professional assistance; and your chances for approval are cut in half without representation.  We ensure you are represented fairly and we assist you in getting the paperwork filed properly.  We also explain the claim breakdown to help you understand exactly what you are getting from the insurance company.

We also ensure the work is done to specification in a timely manner.  We generally complete the work within one week from the time you get initial proceeds from your insurance company.

Overall, expect the entire process to take one month.  After you  file the claim you will hear from an adjuster who will schedule an appointment to inspect your roof.  The adjuster will generally schedule an appointment within 1-2 weeks from the date you file the claim.  If approved during the inspection, it will take between a few hours to a few weeks to receive an inspection report and an initial check (if approved).  Depending on the amount you recieve, it will take between 1 day and 2 weeks to get your initial check endorsed and deposited. [NOTE: On larger claims amounts the check may be issued to you AND your mortgage company.  In the case of the latter, it can take up to 2 weeks to get your check endorsed by your mortgage company.]  After funds get deposited and paid to your hail damage claims services company i.e. roofer, it will take between 1 – 2 weeks to get the actual work done on your roof.  When the work is completed your contractor will issue a final invoice for the completed work.  When submitted to your insurance company, it will take between a few days and a couple of weeks to get your final check from the insurance company.  Finally, depending on who is named on the check, it can take between 2 days and 2 weeks to get final check endorsed and deposited.

As you can see this is a long process which requires great attention and professionalism.  At Home Asset Protection services we understand these time frames and we do everything possible to do most of the work so you don’t have to spend precious time dealing with this tedious process.

Would you rather do this all yourself risking the chance of getting your claim approved and not getting fair compensation for your claim; or would you prefer to have a professional company with experience handling the claim for you to ensure you get fair representation, fair compensation, and professional service on the replacement of your roof?

Call Home Asset Protection Services, LLC (HAPS) at 404-933-6610 to speak with one of our representatives about how we can help you determine if you should file a claim on your roof as a result of hail damage.

We get most of our jobs from referrals, so our goal is to make sure you are satisified.  It’s what keeps us in business….because in this business, reputation of professionalism and quality are of utmost importance.

If you live in the Metro Atlanta area, we want to hear from you soon.

Have a great day.

Common Atlanta Hail Damage Roofing Scams

Posted in Atlanta Hail Damage Information, Claims Guide with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , on November 10, 2009 by HAPS

Over the past few months we’ve run across several homeowners in the Metro Atlanta area who have been taken advantage of by companies in the hail damage roof replacement business.

The large amount of hail damage over the past few years has brought millions of dollars of business into the area.  With this magnitude of opportunity comes a small percentage of scammers who don’t represent the best interest of the homeowners.

Here are a few Hail Damage Roof scams we’ve run across in the last month.

One Snellville, GA homeowner told us she signed a contract with a company.  Upon receipt of insurance funds from the hail damage claim she wrote out a check to the roofing company.  The company cashed the check and then disappeared.  She can’t locate the company (who was an out of state company) and her insurance company obviously is not responsible for the error. This homeowner will now have to pay for the repairs out of pocket.

Another homeowner had their roof replaced from a roofing company who was also registered out of state.  When the work was complete the homeowner noticed a problem with the roof which needed to be fixed.  Once again, this homeowner was not able to reach the company via the phone number he was provided.   Now they have leaks and repairs which need to be done which will not be covered by the insurance company because the damage is not storm related. Again, these repairs will have to be paid for out of pocket.

Yet another homeowner went under contract with a roofer, and after they issued the initial payment to the roofer… the roofer wouldn’t do the work in a timely manner.  After 2 months of waiting the homeowner finally was able to get the check back from the original roofer, and we were able to get the job done promptly.  We even started the work without a downpayment to ensure the homeowner that the work would be done by our company.  It was a risk on our part, but we felt the homeowner would be a great reference after we helped show them that all companies are not scammers.

As you can see, there are many ways to be taken advantage of by these roofing companies and hail damage claims companies.

Some precautions you can take are:

Make the company show you a copy of their business license and/or their corporation filings to make sure they really are a local company.  It’s easy to buy a cell phone with a local number, and many out of state companies are doing this to make it appear they are “local”.  Find out their home office location to verify they really are locally owned.

Make sure the roofing company offers a warranty for the workmanship of their job.  Of course you need to once again make sure they are local so you can find them if warranty repairs are needed.

Ask for references:  A good company will have plenty of references for you to check up on to see how well the company did throughout the entire Hail Damage claim process.  Finding satisfied customers shouldn’t be too difficult if the hail damage claims company did a good job because the actual service provided is quite valuable.  Getting a quality new roof paid for by your insurance company is a good deal.  It’s fair, it’s necessary, and it’s a great value for little to no cost.  A company that won’t provide references raises a huge flag.

At Home Asset Protection Services, LLC we offer professional service, prompt attention to your hail damage claim, and we are located in Suwanee, GA.  We have many references who are more than pleased with our work, and we’ll be happy to provide references to you if you decide to look into the opportunity of having your roof replaced from Hail Damage in the Atlanta area.

Call us at 404-933-6610 or CLICK HERE TO CONTACT US  if you would like to meet with one of our representatives to determine if you may qualify for a roof replacement which is covered by your insurance company.

We offer FREE inspections to determine if damage has ocurred, and we assist you through the entire claims process.  We do quality work and we offer a no leak warranty on all workmanship of our services to go along with the manufacturers warranty for the product.

And of course we’ll be happy to provide references of satisfied homeowners who have had their roof replaced as a result of utilizing the services of our company during the entire Hail Damage Claims process.

Determining if your Atlanta Home has Hail Damage

Posted in Atlanta Hail Damage Information with tags , , , , on November 3, 2009 by HAPS

As a homeowner, it is difficult to determine if you’ve had hail damage on your roof.  As a homeowner you don’t usually climb on your roof to inspect for damage after a storm, and most likely you don’t know what to look for.

Hail Spot

If you’ve seen roofs being replace in your area then you may have been hit by the storms in February, April, or June 2009.

We don’t advise you to put in a claim on your property until you’ve had a claims specialist pre inspect your home to determine if you may qualify for a roof replacement from your insurance company.

Our team of professionals offer FREE inspections of your roof to determine the amount of damage you may have incurred from the storms of 2009.  If we believe you may qualify for an insurance replacement, we advise you to file a claim with your insurance company.  Our professionals will assist you in filing the claim, meet with the adjuster to represent YOU, assist you in getting the check endorsed (often complicated), and make sure the work is done correctly and in a timely manner.

The determination of having enough damage for a full roof replacement is totally up to the adjuster, however; it is best to have a company to represent you during the inspection.

If you live in the Metro Atlanta area and you think you could possibly have damage to your roof, call Home Asset Protection Services, LLC at 404-933-6610 to set up an appointment with one of our professionals to meet with you, do a free pre inspection, and assist you through the entire claims process from start to finish.

We represent YOU, and our goal is to make the claim process as simple as possible to help you protect one of your most valuable assets…..your Home.
